Turkey launches AI proficiency test and free AI training via e-Devlet

Turkey is preparing to launch a new system for assessing artificial intelligence (AI) proficiency, which will be integrated directly into the country’s national e-government platform, e-Devlet.

This initiative, scheduled for implementation by August 2026, aims to allow citizens to measure their skills in AI and provide them with access to free, tailored training.

The measure is part of a broader commitment to strengthening digital literacy within the population. The new system will provide Turkish citizens with an opportunity to evaluate their understanding of artificial intelligence, ranging from fundamental concepts to more advanced applications.

Based on the results of this assessment, e-Devlet will automatically guide users toward relevant and appropriate training programmes.

This ensures that every individual is offered education that meets their specific knowledge needs and helps to close skills gaps.

By offering this service free of charge through an already established and widely used digital platform, Turkey is taking a proactive step to ensure that all citizens have access to essential knowledge about AI.

This is critical in an era where artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing the labour market, society and daily life.

The project reflects a national strategy to prepare the country’s workforce and the general public for future technological changes. This investment in AI proficiency is vital for Turkey’s industrial and technological development.

By raising the general level of AI understanding among the population, Turkey can foster innovation, strengthen its digital economy and improve public services.

The initiative underscores the country’s ambition to be an active participant in the global digital transformation and to capitalise on the opportunities that artificial intelligence presents.
