Alanya Red Crescent Leader on Humanitarian Mission in Iraq
Ahmet Dere, the local leader of Alanya Genç Kızılay (Turkish Red Crescent Youth Alanya), has visited official and institutional sites in Iraq. The visit was part of a humanitarian “sacrifice operation” conducted by the Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay).
The delegation from Turkey also included Kamil Karadeniz, a board member of Türk Kızılay, underscoring the organisation’s cross-border solidarity. These operations are a central part of Kızılay’s humanitarian work, especially during religious holidays, and involve distributing sacrificial meat to families in vulnerable areas to provide vital food aid.
Dere’s participation in the mission highlights Alanya’s commitment to larger humanitarian initiatives. It connects the city to international aid efforts and emphasises the significance of local contributions to global challenges.
