Antalya Luxury Residence Residents Face Massive Common Expense Hike

Residents of a luxury residence in Antalya’s Konyaaltı district are experiencing significant unrest following a drastic increase in monthly common expenses, known as “aidat”. The costs have suddenly risen to 20,000 Turkish Lira (TL) per month, in addition to a one-time demand for an extra payment of 100,000 TL. This unexpected and substantial increase has caused widespread concern among residents.

This sudden price surge has created a tense situation within the residential complex. With monthly fees quintupling for many and a large additional payment demanded, numerous residents face unforeseen financial challenges. This has sparked widespread conflict in the luxury residence, with residents now demanding answers and an explanation for the soaring costs. The situation is particularly relevant for foreign homeowners and those considering property investment in the region.

Common expenses, or " aidat," are a central aspect of property ownership in Turkey, especially in complexes offering shared facilities like swimming pools, security, and maintenance. While these fees typically cover operational costs, an increase of this magnitude is highly unusual and signals potential challenges for anyone owning or planning to acquire property in Antalya' s luxury segment.

Prospective buyers and current foreign residents in the Antalya region are urged to be proactive, ensuring they understand all potential costs associated with property ownership, including common expense terms and any clauses allowing for changes.
