Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Organises Annual Ashure…

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality recently organised its annual Ashure distribution at Alanya’s Cuma Pazarı, also known as the Friday Market. This traditional event drew a large crowd of both local residents and tourists visiting the Turkish coastal city.

The distribution took place during the Muharrem month, an important period in the Islamic calendar traditionally associated with reflection and charity. Ashure, a sweet dish made from various ingredients, symbolises unity and generosity through shared consumption.

Organisers noted significant interest from both locals and visitors, who actively participated in the sharing of the dessert. The market square was filled with a spirit of community, highlighting the event’s success in bringing people together and offering tourists an authentic experience of Turkish customs and traditions.
