Antalya SGK Director and Son Arrested in Major Corruption Probe

A large-scale corruption investigation is underway at the Social Security Institution (SGK) in Antalya, Turkey. Mehmet Tanrıöver, the SGK Regional Director for Antalya, has been arrested as part of the ongoing probe into alleged bribery and irregularities within the state agency.

Also taken into custody is Tanrıöver’s son, Mehmet Rıdvan Tanrıöver, a lawyer. He is reportedly the son-in-law of Ali Şahin, a Member of Parliament for the ruling AK Party representing Gaziantep, which highlights the gravity of the case.

Authorities continue to expand the investigation, with multiple individuals arrested. The inquiry focuses on uncovering a potential systematic pattern of corrupt practices within the SGK system in the popular region.
