Antalya targets major congresses in 2026 to boost hotel occupancy
Travellers planning to visit the Turkish Riviera in late 2026 should take note.
According to an announcement from the Governor of Antalya, Hulusi Şahin, the city is set to host three significant international congresses in October, November, and December.
These events are expected to generate a massive trade volume of 3 billion US dollars for the city.
The primary objective of this initiative is to offset previous losses within the tourism sector and strengthen the local economy during the traditionally quieter period outside of the high season. For tourists and foreign residents living in or planning a trip to Antalya, these large-scale congresses may have noticeable consequences.
In particular, hotel capacity and general availability may be affected during the months in question.
This is likely to lead to increased demand for accommodation, transport, and local services.
The Governor' s statement emphasises the importance of business and conference tourism—known as the MICE segment—to Antalya' s economy.
By attracting major international events, the region intends to diversify its flow of tourists and secure revenue outside of the busy summer months. Potential visitors to Antalya in late 2026 should therefore consider booking flights and hotels well in advance.
