Finance expert Memiş recommends investment strategy for one million Turkish Lira

Financial expert İslam Memiş has recently presented an example of an investment portfolio tailored for individuals with one million Turkish Lira (TL) in savings.

These recommendations come during a period characterised by what Memiş describes as a " high-uncertainty environment," providing essential guidance to Turkish investors who are seeking both stability and growth amidst challenging economic conditions. According to Memiş, one million TL should be distributed equally across four distinct asset classes: gold, silver, Bitcoin, and the BIST 100 index.

This means that 25 per cent of the savings should be invested into each of these categories, reflecting a strategy based on diversification to mitigate risk and optimise the potential for returns. The strategy of splitting the investment into four equal parts—gold, silver, Bitcoin, and the BIST 100—is intended to protect investors against volatility in individual markets.

Gold and silver are often viewed as safe havens during periods of economic unrest and inflation, and they can assist in preserving purchasing power. Bitcoin, as a digital currency, represents a more volatile but potentially higher-yielding asset, while the BIST 100 serves as the main index of Borsa İstanbul, Turkey' s largest stock exchange, providing exposure to the Turkish economy.

This approach suggests that Memiş recognises the value of spreading risk across both traditional and newer investment alternatives to navigate a landscape where conventional investments might otherwise be vulnerable. These recommendations are particularly relevant for Turkish households, which frequently face the challenges of high inflation and volatility in the Turkish Lira, making the choice of investment vehicles critical for personal finance.

In addition to his investment basket, İslam Memiş also offered specific advice to those considering the purchase of a property. He identified the period between the second week of November and December as a favourable window for potential homebuyers.

This may suggest expectations regarding specific market conditions or seasonal trends that could make it more advantageous to invest in real estate towards the end of the year. The advice provided by Memiş is significant for Turkish consumers and investors, as it offers insight into a respected finance expert' s perspective on how best to manage savings and major investments, such as property purchases, within the current economic climate.

Such statements can influence the investment decisions of thousands of households and contribute to shaping market trends in Turkey in the coming months.
