Kestel’s main street in Alanya undergoes extensive upgrade
Alanya Municipality is in the midst of extensive renovation work on the infrastructure and surface of İsa Küçülmez Street in the Kestel district.
This central thoroughfare in Alanya, known as Kestel' s main street, is undergoing a total upgrade that will affect daily traffic and accessibility for local residents, tourists, and expatriates living in the region.
The work, which was initiated by the municipality, is following a scheduled timetable.
Approximately 20 days ago, Alanya Mayor, Osman Tarık Özçelik, inspected the progress on-site.
The inspection confirmed that the first stage of the project is now largely completed, and preparations for the second phase are underway. İsa Küçülmez Street is a vital traffic artery in Kestel, a popular area east of Alanya city centre.
The renovation is expected to significantly improve road standards, drainage, and general facilities.
While the work is ongoing, travellers may experience temporary diversions, reduced accessibility, and increased noise, particularly in the vicinity of the construction zones.
For tourists, Nordic travellers, and foreign residents planning to visit or stay in the Kestel area, it is important to be aware of the ongoing roadworks.
It is recommended to allow extra time for travel in the area and to pay attention to diversion signage.
Local shops and services near İsa Küçülmez Street will remain accessible, although access routes may be subject to change. Although the project entails temporary inconvenience, the finished main street will contribute to a smoother traffic flow and a more welcoming experience in Kestel in the long term.
The municipality' s efforts underscore a commitment to modernising infrastructure in the region, which is beneficial for both permanent residents and the growing tourism industry in Alanya.
