Man arrested in Alanya in major illegal betting probe
A 32-year-old man, identified as F. D., was arrested in Alanya on June 6, 2026. He had an outstanding warrant related to a large-scale illegal betting investigation originating from the Sakarya region, indicating the multi-provincial scope of the probe.
Following his arrest, F. D. was taken to the Alanya courthouse. He was subsequently released under strict conditions, including a direct ban on leaving Turkey and being placed under judicial supervision, often referred to as “adli kontrol”, which typically entails regular reporting to authorities.
This operation underscores Turkish authorities’ proactive stance against illegal betting and associated criminal activities. The arrest in Alanya, a prominent tourist area, signals that law enforcement is active and committed to maintaining legal order across all regions, including those with significant international populations.
