Selçuk Bayraktar announces record-breaking attendance for TEKNOFEST
Selçuk Bayraktar, chairman of the renowned Turkish technology festival TEKNOFEST, has announced that the event continues to set new attendance records.
This success highlights the burgeoning interest in technology and innovation within Turkey and underscores TEKNOFEST' s significance as a national platform for future technological development.
Bayraktar stated that the “best TEKNOFEST experience” is currently taking place in Şanlıurfa, where the festival is being held. TEKNOFEST is an annual event that draws millions of visitors, students, engineers, and technology enthusiasts.
The festival, frequently described as the world' s largest aviation, aerospace, and technology event, is organised with the aim of increasing public awareness regarding technology, while inspiring and encouraging young people to engage in scientific and technical fields.
Selçuk Bayraktar’s statement confirms that this vision continues to resonate strongly with the Turkish population. The festival encompasses a wide range of competitions, exhibitions, and demonstrations in fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), aerospace technology, and defence technology.
These competitions provide young talents with an opportunity to showcase their skills and projects, acting as a catalyst for new innovations.
The record-high attendance indicates a broader acceptance and enthusiasm for these technological areas in Turkey, spanning from primary school pupils to university students and professionals. For Turkey, TEKNOFEST is more than just a festival; it is a strategic investment in the country’s technological future and independence.
By fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, the event helps strengthen Turkey’s own development of high-tech products and services, particularly within the defence and aerospace sectors.
This approach is essential for reducing external dependency and building a robust national industry. Selçuk Bayraktar, who is also known for his role at Baykar Technology, a leading player in unmanned aerial vehicle technology, emphasises the national importance of TEKNOFEST.
The event is a flagship project for the Turkish Ministry of Technology and other public institutions, reflecting the nation' s ambitions to become a global leader in advanced technology.
The sustained growth in participation demonstrates that these ambitions are widely supported by the public. The success of TEKNOFEST, with its ever-increasing records in participant numbers, sends a clear signal that Turkey is on its way to establishing itself as an innovative powerhouse.
This has positive ripple effects for Turkish industry, the labour market, and the education sector, contributing to the creation of a new generation of engineers and scientists equipped to meet future challenges.
Furthermore, the increased exposure to Turkish technology through TEKNOFEST may also strengthen the country' s international cooperation and technology exports.
The ongoing festival in Şanlıurfa thus proves the festival’s enduring relevance and its ability to engage the entire society in the technological revolution.
