Sharp rise in school transport prices in Turkey’s major cities
Ahead of the start of the new school year on 14 September, the new prices for school transport in Turkey' s three largest cities have been announced.
Families in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir will have to pay significantly more to get their children to and from school.
The price increases vary between the cities.
In Istanbul, school transport prices have risen by 10 percent.
The capital, Ankara, is experiencing an increase of 25.49 percent, while Izmir has seen the largest price hike at a substantial 35 percent. The annual costs for school transport in these major cities now range from 27,000 Turkish lira up to 93,610 Turkish lira.
This represents a significant expense for many households in Turkey and will put further pressure on family budgets.
