Turkey among the leaders in AI tool usage, with nearly 2 billion visits
Turkey has established itself as a prominent nation in the use of artificial intelligence (AI), with nearly 2 billion visits to AI tool websites in 2025.
This impressive figure of 1.92 billion visits places Turkey 19th globally, underscoring the country' s rapid adoption of this transformative technology. Global traffic to such websites reached a total of 125.7 billion visits throughout the year, with the United States acting as the undisputed leader.
The extensive use of AI tools in Turkey reflects an increasing national interest and a willingness to integrate artificial intelligence into everyday life and the business sector. Such widespread adoption can accelerate digital transformation across the country, foster innovation, and potentially increase productivity across various sectors.
It also signals growing digital literacy and a receptive environment for new technologies, which is crucial for national competitiveness in the global digital economy. In a world where artificial intelligence is increasingly influential, Turkey' s 19th-place ranking demonstrates a significant level of engagement.
By comparison, the United States alone accounted for 26.9 billion of the global visits, which represented more than one-fifth of the total traffic. This underscores not only Turkey' s active role but also the massive scale of the global AI revolution, where countries are competing to harness AI to drive economic growth and societal development.
AI tools encompass a wide range of applications, from generative models that create text and images to advanced analytical platforms that process vast amounts of data. The easy access to such tools has democratised the use of artificial intelligence, allowing individuals, small businesses, and larger organisations to experiment with and benefit from the technology.
For Turkey, this means that a broad user base is actively exploring the potential of AI. The high usage of AI tools may have profound implications for Turkey' s future technological and economic landscape.
It could stimulate the development of national AI strategies, increase investment in research and development, and foster the growth of Turkish technology companies and startups in the field. Such development is critical to ensure that Turkey is not just a consumer, but also a producer and innovator of AI solutions.
Furthermore, the widespread adoption of AI tools could lead to significant improvements in public services, education, healthcare, and the defence industry—areas of high priority for Turkey. The integration of AI into these sectors can increase efficiency, improve decision-making processes, and create new opportunities for innovation that could have a positive impact on the entire society.
Turkey' s strong commitment to AI underscores the country' s ambitions to be a digitally forward-thinking nation.
