Turkey and Azerbaijan deepen energy cooperation for regional security
Turkey' s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, has met with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Parviz Shahbazov, in Baku.
The meeting took place in conjunction with the fifth Turkey-Azerbaijan Energy Forum, where discussions focused on continuing and strengthening the established energy cooperation between the two nations. Minister Bayraktar emphasised in a statement that the partnership will be elevated to a higher level through initiatives for new, joint projects.
The objective of these projects is to contribute significantly to energy supply security and economic prosperity, not only for Turkey and Azerbaijan, but for the entire surrounding region. Strengthening energy supply security is of great strategic importance to Turkey.
The country is positioning itself as a critical energy corridor connecting energy-rich regions in the Caucasus and Central Asia with major energy markets in Europe.
