Turkish authorities launched a major operation on May 18 against an illegal gambling network spanning 20 provinces, with Antalya as its central hub. The network is alleged to have processed a staggering 11.4 billion Turkish Lira in transactions.

The extensive operation led to the detention of 121 individuals for questioning. Following thorough investigations, a court subsequently ordered the pre-trial detention of 59 suspects, while others were either released or are awaiting further legal proceedings.

This significant crackdown underscores the authorities’ ongoing commitment to combating organized crime and illegal gambling across Turkey, particularly in popular tourist regions like Antalya and Alanya. Such actions aim to uphold law and order, reinforcing a sense of security for residents, tourists, and foreign nationals alike.
