Turkey Ranks Second Globally for Schengen Visa Applications
Turkey received over 1.2 million applications for Schengen visas, positioning the country as the second-largest global applicant, after China. This figure, reported by the EU, marks a record high for the nation.
The significant volume of applications underscores a rising demand for international travel among the Turkish population. Schengen visas provide access to 27 European countries, popular for both leisure and business.
This trend reflects a strong desire among Turkish citizens to visit Europe for tourism, family visits, and other purposes, indicating a notable shift in travel behaviour.
