Turkey to begin development of domestic Türksat 7A satellite
Turkey’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, has announced plans to commence development of the next-generation domestic communication satellite, Türksat 7A, by the end of the year. Minister Uraloğlu stated that the satellite will be developed and produced entirely with national resources and expertise.
This initiative is a key part of Turkey’s strategy to strengthen its space industry and boost technological independence, aiming to reduce reliance on foreign expertise and components for critical infrastructure projects like satellite communication. Türksat 7A is crucial for delivering various digital services, including TV broadcasting, broadband internet, and telecommunications, thereby ensuring the country’s digital sovereignty and improving supply security.
