
Turkish Researchers Develop Hybrid Polymer to Extend Battery Life
Researchers at Turkey’s Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ) have developed an innovative hybrid polymer designed to significantly extend battery life and improve charging speeds. The electroactive polymer was created by reacting acetone with elemental sulphur using a newly developed polymerisation method, representing a technological advancement in energy storage.
This innovation addresses two major challenges in current battery technology: extending operational life and reducing charging times. Enhanced battery performance is crucial for sectors ranging from consumer electronics and electric vehicles to large-scale energy storage for renewable sources.
