Turkish scientists have completed 16 polar expeditions
Turkish researchers have conducted a total of 16 scientific expeditions to the Earth' s polar regions.
Ten of these expeditions have been to Antarctica, while six have been directed towards the Arctic.
This significant achievement was announced by Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Turkey’s Minister of Industry and Technology, and marks the country' s growing commitment to global polar research under the leadership of the Polar Research Institute, which was established in collaboration with TÜBİTAK in 2019.
Minister Kacır expressed his pride that Turkish scientists are now playing an increasingly vital role in international scientific studies that are crucial for understanding climate change and environmental dynamics.
