Turkish smartphone project set for launch in 2027
The Turkish companies ASELSAN and Türk Telekom are collaborating on the development of a national smartphone, which is scheduled to be launched in the first half of 2027.
This project forms part of Turkey' s broader push toward technological self-sufficiency.
The initiative, which is of strategic importance to the nation' s digital infrastructure and independence, will initially utilise Android as its operating system, though it retains a clear future vision to develop its own domestic solutions for both software and hardware. Türk Telekom executive Ebubekir Şahin has confirmed that production and testing for the smartphone are currently taking place at a facility in Malatya.
