The accusation states Kemal Göktaş was involved in an incident in 1980 where police officer Muzaffer Yeşilyurt was killed and officer Mehmet Bektaş was injured, with their service weapons stolen. THKO was a militant Marxist-Leninist group active in Turkey, particularly during the 1970s.
The disclosure of Kemal Göktaş’s alleged past coincides with significant media attention on his son, Deniz Göktaş. The comedian was recently imprisoned after allegedly mocking the Quran in his performances, a case that has sparked considerable debate in Turkey.
