Air Anka Flight Crisis Continues Amid Summer Capacity Challenges
Thousands of travellers continue to be affected by an ongoing flight crisis involving Turkish airline Air Anka. The company has failed to maintain its flights from Russia to Turkey, leaving many Russian tourists stranded in Turkey or unable to commence their holidays.
Russian tour operators are working to arrange return flights for stranded tourists and transfer passengers awaiting departure to alternative services. However, a complete solution for the significant capacity lost for the entire summer season has not yet been found, according to reports from the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR).
The persistent issues with Air Anka, primarily impacting the Russian market, could indirectly affect Turkey’s overall flight capacity. Significant disruptions in one key segment may alter flight availability and potentially increase prices for travellers from other countries, including Nordic nations, planning summer trips to Turkey.
Tour operator Anex is among those managing the challenges, having worked on solutions for passengers due to fly with Air Anka since May 26. This highlights the importance for travellers to prepare for possible changes, especially during the busy summer season, by considering flexible tickets or comprehensive travel insurance.
