Power cut announced in the Alanya area

A seven-hour planned power outage has been announced for 6 September in parts of the Antalya region, including the popular holiday destinations of Alanya and Gazipaşa.

The power cut, which was announced by the electricity company AEDAŞ, will affect local residents, tourists, and businesses alike.

The reason for the interruption is essential maintenance and investment work on the power grid, which is crucial for ensuring a stable supply in the future.

The extensive outage will last for a full seven hours, from early morning until the afternoon, and will specifically affect areas in Alanya, Gazipaşa, Finike, and Kumluca.

Everyone currently in these towns, whether they are permanent residents, holidaymakers, or business owners, must therefore prepare for a significant period without electricity on this day. For travellers and foreign residents, this means that daily routines and services may be disrupted.

Air conditioning, refrigerators, and internet access will be unavailable, which requires careful planning, especially during warmer conditions.

Charging stations for mobile phones and other electronic devices will also be inaccessible, which could affect communication and navigation.

Local restaurants, shops, and other service businesses that rely on electricity may have to adjust their opening hours or offerings during the period.

This may impact the availability of food, drink, and other necessities, and it is recommended to check with specific establishments in advance if you have plans that involve services dependent on electricity.

It is therefore wise to charge all electronic devices the evening before, as well as to have alternative plans for meals and activities.

Ensure that you have cash available, as card terminals may be out of operation.

Travellers and permanent residents are encouraged to keep track of local news and information from AEDAŞ for updates regarding timings and any potential changes to the plans.
