Russia-Antalya Flight Capacity Down 10% for Summer

Flight capacity between Russia and Turkey' s popular holiday destination Antalya is expected to decrease by approximately 10% for the summer season. This reduction, reported by Russia' s Tour Operator Association (ATOR) based on Russian media reports, primarily stems from Russia' s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) not extending flight permits for Air Anka and Tailwind airlines for flights originating from Russia.

Additionally, Azur Air has cut its flight schedule.

The decrease in flight availability, particularly for charter flights popular with package tourists, means fewer seats for Russian travellers heading to Antalya. Air Anka’s flight permits for Russia were notably not extended as of May 26, contributing to the overall capacity shortage. This situation could lead to higher prices for remaining flights and reduced choices for holidaymakers planning trips to the Turkish resort city.

While the primary impact of this capacity reduction will be felt by Russian tourists, it could indirectly affect overall demand and availability in Antalya for other international travellers. Russian citizens considering a summer trip to Antalya are therefore advised to be aware of the reduced availability and consider booking their travel arrangements well in advance to secure a place.
