Haydari is a thick Turkish yogurt dip with garlic, dill and olive oil. It works well as meze with bread, grilled food and small dishes.
Ingredients
- 400 g thick yogurt
- 100 g feta cheese
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp finely chopped dill
- 1 tsp dried mint
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Place the yogurt in a bowl.
- Mash the feta cheese finely with a fork and mix it into the yogurt.
- Grate or press the garlic and add it to the bowl.
- Add olive oil, dill, dried mint, salt and pepper.
- Stir well until everything is evenly mixed.
- Chill the haydari for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Tips
- Use Greek or Turkish yogurt for the best texture.
- Add more garlic if you want a stronger taste.
- Serve with warm bread, pide or grilled dishes.
