Haydari is a thick Turkish yogurt dip with garlic, dill and olive oil. It works well as meze with bread, grilled food and small dishes.

Ingredients

  • 400 g thick yogurt
  • 100 g feta cheese
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped dill
  • 1 tsp dried mint
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the yogurt in a bowl.
  2. Mash the feta cheese finely with a fork and mix it into the yogurt.
  3. Grate or press the garlic and add it to the bowl.
  4. Add olive oil, dill, dried mint, salt and pepper.
  5. Stir well until everything is evenly mixed.
  6. Chill the haydari for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Tips

  • Use Greek or Turkish yogurt for the best texture.
  • Add more garlic if you want a stronger taste.
  • Serve with warm bread, pide or grilled dishes.
