Turkish Contractors Ready for Ukraine and Syria Reconstruction
Erdal Eren, President of Turkey’s Contractors Association (TMB), recently announced that Turkish contractors are fully prepared to provide all necessary support for the reconstruction processes in Ukraine and Syria. This declaration signals a significant strategic commitment, potentially opening extensive business opportunities for the Turkish construction sector.
The Turkish construction industry is globally recognised for its capacity and experience, particularly in large infrastructure projects. The immense need for post-conflict reconstruction in Ukraine and Syria presents a market where Turkish companies can play a central role, leveraging their expertise and logistical proximity for projects ranging from housing and hospitals to roads and bridges.
Such engagement is expected to generate substantial foreign currency, stimulate the domestic economy, and create thousands of jobs across engineering, construction, and logistics. Turkey’s unique geographical position, bordering Syria and close to Ukraine, offers a competitive advantage in terms of logistics, transport, and cultural understanding.
The reconstruction efforts will likely encompass planning, project management, and the development of new infrastructure solutions. This provides an opportunity for Turkish businesses to demonstrate their comprehensive capabilities and solidify their position as a leading international construction player, contributing to increased employment and economic stability within Turkey.
