Turkey’s Hazelnut Exports Near $2 Billion in First Nine Months
Turkey’s hazelnut exports have generated substantial revenue, approaching $2 billion during the initial nine months of the 2025-2026 export season. This robust performance underscores the hazelnut sector’s vital contribution as a key agricultural product to the Turkish economy.
Throughout this period, Turkey exported 150,592 tonnes of hazelnuts, generating approximately $1.98 billion in income. As one of the world’s leading producers and exporters, hazelnuts remain a critical agricultural commodity and a significant source of export earnings for the country, particularly benefiting the Black Sea region.
The strong export figures positively impact Turkey’s foreign trade balance and foreign exchange reserves. Such revenues are crucial for managing trade deficits and fostering economic stability, especially amid currency fluctuations.
